Since the 2020 model year, the 2023 Highlander Hybrid Limited has been powered by a 2.5-litre inline-four mated to a pair of electric motors. The hybrid has a combined system output of 243 HP, and it is assisted by an automatic CVT transmission.
The Limited’s 7-seat layout includes 2nd-row captain’s chairs and provides ample space for passengers and luggage, even if three average-sized adults are riding along. The Toyota Highlander is a good option for families due to its size and safety features but it lacks the competition’s third-row seating.
The Highlander Hybrid comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. With the Limited, you can also take advantage of wireless smartphone charging and an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, and the infotainment touchscreen is upgraded to 12.3 inches. There’s also dual-device Bluetooth connectivity, cloud-based mapping, and the “Hey Toyota” digital assistant.
