Toyota has given the plug-in hybrid Prius Prime a whole new look and a completely reworked chassis for 2023. The new Prime evolves from an unattractive duckling into a beautiful swan. The new Prius Prime comes only in 2 trims; it is lower, wider, and longer than the previous generation, giving it a more aggressive appearance. A Prius Hybrid is also available if you only want the hybrid component.
The new TNGA-H underpinnings of the Prius Prime are said to be more rigid, lighter, and provide a lower centre of gravity than the TNGA-C underpinnings of the Prius from the previous model year.
In addition to its revamped bodywork, the latest plug-in Prius features an upgraded powertrain that generates 220 horsepower—nearly 100 more than the outgoing model—and a new lithium-ion battery pack should allow it to travel just under 69 kilometres on electric power alone.
