Although it is based on the regular 5-door Corolla hatchback, the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is easily distinguishable from a regular Corolla. Other distinguishing features include a one-of-a-kind front fascia and a rear bumper with three separate exhaust pipes.
Direct and port fuel injection supply pressured air and improve chamber cooling in the 1.6-litre inline-three-cylinder engine used in the GR Corolla. At 6,000 rpm, the triple is able to produce 300 hp thanks to the 25.2 psi of boost from the turbo, and between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm, it produces 273 lb-ft of torque.
The GR Corolla offers a lovely close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, so you can anticipate sportingly close gear spacing. The GR Corolla is a joy to row through the gears. The next gear is never far away when you have 300 horsepower in a little hatchback.
The GR Corolla is assembled with a more human-centric hand assembly procedure, and it is only produced at Toyota’s Motomachi plant.
