The All-New 2024 Subaru Forester Is Next New Launch And Whats Coming

Should customers wait for the 2024 Subaru Forester or buy the 2023 model? Customers waiting for the 2024 Subaru Forester should know it’s likely to get a complete redesign with a new exterior, interior, and possible engine upgrades.

Subaru has yet to announce the all-new sixth-generation Subaru Forester and if it will arrive as a 2024 model. The current 2023 Forester is in its fifth generation, and the sixth generation will come with a complete redesign from the ground up.

If everything goes as expected, the compact SUV will be redesigned in the second half of 2023 and be available as a 2024 model. The anticipated 2024 Forester release date in the U.S. is the fall or winter of 2023.

Here is what’s next for the Forester compact SUV

The Subaru Forester compact SUV received a complete remodel for 2019. However, if Subaru stays with its five-year life cycle, the all-new sixth-generation Subaru Forester will arrive as a 2024 model.

The 2022 Forester received a “refresh,” and the 2023 Forester is a carry-over model with no upgrades. However, for customers who can wait, Forester comes with new improvements.

What upgrades will the 2024 Forester have?

Subaru is tight-lipped about future product plans, and they have made no announcements about the 2024 Forester. Planet Subaru says the next-generation Forester will get new exterior styling, interior, infotainment, and safety features.

Like the 2024 Crosstrek, Forester will get the next-generation EyeSight driver assist safety technology, an updated Subaru Global Platform with improved driving dynamics and ride quality, a quieter cabin, updated infotainment, and a larger 11.6-inch tablet-style touchscreen.

Also, look for the new 2024 Forester to get more supportive front seats, a wireless phone charger, aerodynamic improvements, and a heated steering wheel in the Forester Wilderness.

What engine will the new Forester have?

Subaru will likely stay with the 2.5-liter Boxer engine, which will be re-tuned for improved performance and fuel mileage. It’s unsure if the Forester will get the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine upgrade.

Will Subaru offer a sixth-generation all-electric Forester?

Planet Subaru does say, “We know with considerable certainty that there will be no all-electric Forester for 2024.” They say the all-electric Subaru Solterra EV is about the same size as the Forester, so that the all-new model will keep its gas-powered Boxer engine.

Will Forester get a new hybrid powertrain?

Subaru will likely offer a Forester hybrid engine option with Toyota technology to meet ever-more-demanding emissions regulations. Subaru says they will have a new hybrid model by 2025, but they have yet to identify which Subaru vehicle it will be.

Forester inventory is improving.

Subaru announced its new model production and export numbers in its Japanese factories. New vehicle production increased 42.0 percent in March, the second month of consecutive increase. Subaru makes the U.S.-specification 2023 Subaru Forester, all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Base and Premium trims, and the new 2024 Subaru Impreza compact hatchback at the Japanese factory. As a result, wait times for the new models should improve.

Subaru of America will announce the 2024 Forester compact SUV next, and it should get a complete remodel. The 2024 Forester will arrive this fall or winter. Stay tuned.
